FAQs
What should we wear? What color do you suggest?
Most importantly, I want you to feel confident in what you’re wearing. If a specific outfit makes you feel yuck in your own skin, do not wear it! With that being said…I’m all for dressing it up a tad! You spent the time, money, and managed to get all your people together in one spot, do it big girl! Get your hair did, makeup done, go out to dinner after your session… the works.
Colors? Since my photography style is light, airy, and true to color, I always suggest lighter or neutral/ earthy clothing options including: neutrals, blushes, light sage green, light blues, whites, creams, grays, rust and even black…
Head over to my Instagram page for some inspo and some Reels that walk you through the “choosing” process.
What time of day is best to schedule our session?
Golden hour is my jam…for that beautiful, soft lit glow. That’s usually about an hour or so prior to sunset, so the exact time will vary during the changing seasons. I also offer morning sessions as well.
How long is a session?
About 45 minutes.
Do you offer digitals or prints?
After your session, you will receive a fully downloadable online gallery link. You will also be given the option to purchase prints directly from that link if you choose.
How many people can be photographed during a family session?
Short answer: As many as you’d like. Longer answer: A regular family session includes up to 6 people. There is a price per person fee for each additional person over 6. That being said, I do offer (and LOVE) extended family sessions.
What exactly is a Newborn Lifestyle session?
A newborn lifestyle session is meant to capture your life and connection with your brand new babe. Although we’ll be sure to get the “money shot” with everyone looking and smiling, lifestyle sessions tend to be less posed in order to capture the true emotions shared between babe and family. These sessions are done in your home, where I’d photograph you engaging together in the nursery, living room or master bedroom. Don’t worry- as with all of my sessions, I will guide you every step of the way!
When should we book senior sessions in order to have them back in time for graduation?
Currently I encourage my seniors have their session completed by March or April if they are graduating in May. I’m usually booked a couple months out, so please contact me at the beginning of your senior year to schedule your session for March or April.
How long does it take to receive my gallery once our photos are taken?
2 weeks max, but don’t be surprised if you receive them sooner! I’d rather underpromise and overdeliver:)
Do you offer mini sessions?
At certain times of the year…holidays especially. If you’re looking for the traditional “posed” pictures for holiday cards, my holiday mini sessions are perfect and quick! However, I don’t offer them as a stand alone session. Simply put…I LOVE capturing the relationships and genuine emotions between my clients, so based on time restraints, mini sessions are offered on a seasonal basis only.
I just need “one headshot”…can you do that?
No. I can certainly add a headshot or two to a regular senior/ family session but I do not offer headshots as stand alone sessions.
Are all family photos shared online?
Not necessarily. While I LOVE sharing, I totally understand this is not everyone’s jam. Let me know if you’d rather them not be shared and you got it!
What if my toddler (or teen 😉) doesn’t cooperate during our session?
Leave this part up to me…
Toddlers can definitely be unpredictable for sure, but I usually have zero problem getting them to play and interact with you. Once I win them over, the rest is easy peasy. Oh…and those teenagers…I have two, I get it. They’ll be much nicer to me than they are to you so let me handle it. You sit back and enjoy being pretty :)
When do I need to book our holiday session?
By summer…yes, summer if you want a specific date! October through December is my busiest season so those sessions book up super fast.
Can we bring “props” to our senior session?
Yes! I especially love when seniors bring a diploma, college pennant, football, cheer gear, softball, etc… Your senior session is meant to highlight YOU and all the things YOU love! I also encourage you to bring a best friend or boyfriend/ girlfriend as your “prop” if you choose!
