5 of My Favorite Locations for Senior Pictures in Melbourne, FL & the Space Coast

One of the questions I get asked most often is, "Where should we take my senior pictures?"

 And honestly, helping you choose the perfect spot is one of my favorite parts of planning your session! From beautiful beaches and open fields to charming downtown streets and tropical gardens, Florida's Space Coast has so many gorgeous options. Whether you're dreaming of barefoot beach pictures or something a little more modern, 

Here are five of my favorite locations for senior pictures in Melbourne, FL, and the surrounding Brevard County area!

1. Melbourne Beach & Indialantic Beach

If you know me, you know I LOVE a good beach session!

Melbourne Beach and Indialantic Beach are two of my favorite places for senior pictures because of the incredible variety they offer.

Between the boardwalks, dune grass, wooden stairs, and flowers that pop up at different times of the year, there are so many beautiful backdrops to work with.

And the lighting? SO good.

One of my favorite things about photographing seniors at these beaches is the open space. With no buildings blocking the light, we can take full advantage of that beautiful, soft, glowy Florida sunshine.

We can start with pictures along the boardwalk, move into the dune grass, and finish with your toes in the sand and the ocean behind you.

All without having to travel to another location!

Whether you want to dress things up or keep it casual and barefoot, the beach is always a beautiful choice for your senior pictures.

2. Open Fields in Malabar

If you're dreaming of senior pictures with tall, wispy grasses, beautiful golden light, and a little bit of that country feel, the open fields in Malabar are such a pretty option!

This is one of my favorite locations because there is so much variety in one space.

The tall grasses create the prettiest natural colors, and depending on the time of year, we might even find some flowers mixed in.

There are also beautiful trees, wooden elements, open fields, and even a quiet, deserted road that gives us another completely different backdrop.

I love how the natural textures and colors photograph here, especially when the light starts getting soft and golden.

It's the perfect spot for a senior who loves a more natural, relaxed look.

Think pretty dresses, boots, denim, and lots of movement!

3. Downtown Melbourne

Not every senior dreams of having their pictures taken at the beach, and that's exactly why I love Downtown Melbourne!
If you're looking for something a little more modern, downtown offers so many fun options.
Between the historic buildings, modern architecture, downtown streets, and unique textures, there are plenty of opportunities to create a gallery that feels completely different from a traditional beach session.
We can wander the streets, find pretty little corners, use the buildings as backdrops, and even head up to a parking garage rooftop for some beautiful open-sky portraits.
I especially love the rooftop because it gives us a completely different look without having to leave downtown.
This location is perfect for seniors who love a more urban feel and want their pictures to reflect their personal style.
And with so many different backdrops, outfit changes are always fun here!

4. Cocoa Village

Cocoa Villageis another beautiful location for senior pictures on Florida's Space Coast, especially if you love a mix of classic architecture, charming streets, and waterfront views.

One of my favorite things about photographing seniors here is the variety of backdrops.

There are beautiful historic buildings, charming streets, and a gorgeous Southern-style home with grand columns that gives pictures such a timeless, elegant feel.

If you love that classic, old-money aesthetic, this is such a pretty spot!

And when we want to change things up, we can head toward the waterfront for a completely different look.

I love locations where we can get so much variety without having to spend the entire session driving from one place to another, and Cocoa Village offers just that.

Whether you're wearing a pretty dress or keeping things more casual, there are so many ways to make this location your own.

5. Florida Tech Botanical Gardens

If you love greenery, beautiful trees, and a tropical garden feel, the Florida Tech Botanical Gardens in Melbourne are such a beautiful option for senior pictures.

This location is filled with lush greenery, pretty pathways, bridges, and garden-style areas that create the most beautiful natural backdrops.

I love how the trees and tropical plants surround you here.

There are so many different little spots to explore, and each one offers something a little different.

We can take pictures along the pathways, stop near the bridges, and find beautiful pockets of greenery throughout the gardens.

It's a great option for seniors who love nature and want something different from the beach or an open field.

And because there is so much greenery, this location photographs beautifully with everything from pretty dresses to more casual outfits.
